I painted my front door with satin paint and the paint brush strokes are too noticeable?

Is there anything i can put over it to smooth it out some? Like a high gloss glaze or polyurethane? would that help or make it worse?I painted my front door with satin paint and the paint brush strokes are too noticeable?
To apply polyurethane or glaze over what you have done would make it worse. When ever you apply any finish paint with a brush or roller to a door you should always keep the paint wet from corner to corner and keep brush strokes even as you go. If you don't complete each panel section as you go, you can mess up the finish by touching a partially dry area with a wet brush. That will make the brush strokes stand out and look uneven. Having said all this, you still are faced with the problem of fixing what you have done. Depending on the door and how many layers of paint are on it and if the paint is latex or oil, you could sand it with an electric sander which will take it back down to the primer. This is more difficult with latex paint because it tends to gum up on the sand paper. However if it is completely dry through out, you can work with it to achieve the desired results. Chemical paint stripper is an option but can be very messy and dangerous if not handled properly. Once you get the surface ready to repaint, follow the instructions above and remember to finish each panel section as you go and don鈥檛 touch the painted area again with the brush. Wait until all is completely dry before you start the second coat. Good luckI painted my front door with satin paint and the paint brush strokes are too noticeable?
Gloss finish would make it worse. Use a 7'; roller with a close nap. Go over the existing paint with a couple coats. Any recessed panels use a small brush on the sides and a smaller mini roller for the flat area inside the panels.

Take the doorknob off so you don't have marks where you painted around the knob.

Wrap your roller cover in plastic wrap between coats - do it to keep air out - will last for 1 week or more without drying out if you wrap it - do not wrap really tight - just enough to keep air out.
First, wait until it dries 3 days or even more before you do anything. I don't know much about the satin paint--maybe I use it. Would it be better to use a roller?
I used one of those little sponge brushes on my door and did about three coats until it looked good and smooth.
Poly will make it more noticeable. Lightly sand and apply a couple of coats of paint using a paint pad or small sponge roller and foam brush.
