My dad is giving me his matress set for free and is a simple light wood color, so i figure i would paint it, like i see it done on HGTV.What is the best way to paint wood (my desk draws) brush, spray or spoonge? and what kind of paint?
spray paint will apply smoother and dries quick too! What is the best way to paint wood (my desk draws) brush, spray or spoonge? and what kind of paint?
definietly lightly sand the wood, and apply a primer before painting or it will chip off with use. You can use a brush, a foam one or a quality bristle brush (just paint in one direction). Spray paint will go all over if this is a large piece and it is easy to rush and get drips. If the piece is mostly flat...I'd recommend a small low nap roller to get rid of brush marks.
You can even apply a polyurethane ontop of the paint for added protection and a sheen (of your choice).
first sand it then apply a coat of primer, then paint. The best thing to use on something like that would be a sponge brush, leaves less lines and stuff.
