I brush painted iron poles with oil based paint without a mask for 3 months, will I get cancer?

4 years ago I was working with a company that asked me to paint poles for them outside. I brush painted them, but the paint was oil based and had a strong smell. I did not wear a mask, for the thought never even occured to me. I did this for 3 months, not all day, but maybe a few hours. Now years later i'm in my 20s and working with them again and I decided to read the back saw that it contains ingrediants that the state of california says can cause cancer.I brush painted iron poles with oil based paint without a mask for 3 months, will I get cancer?
It may give you a slightly higher chance, but not really significant. It also has to do with how sensitive you are, and your genes. Keep on living healty, vegetables and fruits, no smoking and stress. My friend if it was 4 years ago, you probally would have gotten cancer by now. Always paint with a mask though, you never know what's in the **** you are using.
HA, I'd be surprised if your stupid a$s didn't get cancer. You probably have enough cancer flowing through your stupid *** that you could give the entire nation of japan a third breast on all males.
I can't say for sure. Every company that has a hazordous substance is required to carry what's called an MSDS manual. In it, you will find the information that the government requires the company to post about the chemical. I would find that and read it. If it states that you were to wear a mask when in contact with it, then you may have a lawsuit on your hands. At least, I would make them pay for a thorough physical including an MRI to make sure there is nothing suspicious. Also, you never know, years down the road, if what you did when you were younger caused cancer.
There are thousands of painters out there who have been using those same products for 30 years, and all of them that I know are doing just fine. Don't worry about it, if everyone that used them had cancer, the epa would put all the companies out of business.
