I need to clean one brush that I used Acrylic paint on.
And another brush that I used a varnish on.
Can I just soak it in water ?How do I clean a paint brush without using Turpintine?
Yes, I have used the same purdy paint brush for years. All I do is rinse it then put it in a big plastic cup with a little soap and hot water. Let it soak overnight then rinse well in the am with hot water. How do I clean a paint brush without using Turpintine?
Acrylic paint is water based. Rinse the brush in warm water and spin it dry. Repeat with clean water until no more paint comes out. You can use a wire brush to remove any dried paint from the bristles. Comb the bristles straight and hang to dry.
If you used a water borne varnish clean the brush the same way. if you used an oil base varnish clean it with mineral spirits, also called paint thinner. Use the same technique as for the acrylic brush.
You can soak them in water, but that won't clean the brushes. You will have to use a solvent to break down the material left in the bristles. Mineral spirits will work. You might try soaking them in mineral spirits.
Mineral Spirits will work on the varnish brush. Acrylic is water based...I think. If so, soap and water will work just fine.
umm put it under a fosset n take the paint off with ur hands n put some soap on it and just try n rub it off
buy cheap brushes and throw them out.
